Jackson Holliday had a struggling start to his major league career earlier this season. However following his stint with the Triple-A Norfolk Tides, the 20-year-old had been showcasing a strong performance with the Orioles.
In their recent game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, Jackson Holliday hit a 408-foot homer off of Tyler Alexander, bringing in a run in the second inning. Holliday’s home had a 104.4 mph velocity and was his fourth homer in his last six games.
Several fans took to X/Twitter and reacted to Holliday’s achievement.

In the first ten games he played with the Baltimore Orioles, Jackson Holliday recorded two hits in 34 at-bats with five runs one RBI and two walks. Following his struggles, the team sent him to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides.
With the Norfolk Tides, he recorded eight homers, 20 doubles, and 29 RBIs in 63 games. Jackson was eventually called up to the majors and hit his first homer of the 2024-25 season against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 31.

The Baltimore Orioles started strong with a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Adley Rutschman hit a solo home run, followed by a two-run single from Ryan Mountcastle. After Jackson Holliday’s homer, the score stood at 4-0.
After not scoring any runs in the next five innings, the Orioles' bats woke up in the eighth inning. Ramon Urias hit a 418-foot home run allowing Holliday to score. Shortly after, Ryan Mountcastle hit a single, taking the score to 7-4 by the eighth inning.
So far in the game, Jackson Holliday has recorded one hit in three at-bats, with two runs, one RBI, and one walk. It remains to be seen whether the Tampa Bay Rays will be able to surpass the Baltimore Orioles' lead.
