The LA Dodgers are one game away from completing a famous sweep over the Boston Red Sox. After securing a solid 4-1 victory on Friday, LA had to grind it out as Game 2 went into extra innings. Will Smith's walk-off single in the eleventh inning on Saturday gave the Dodgers a 7-6 win and the series victory.

With momentum on their side, they would hope for a similar result on Sunday, while Celtics manager Alex Cora will be looking to get something from their West Coast trip. The Dodgers are 58-41 with a seven-game lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Meanwhile, their opponents sit tied with the Kansas City Royals for the third AL wild-card spot with a 53-44 record.

Dodgers vs. Red Sox Game 3 Prediction

Even though the Dodgers look like an in-form team, they have yet to get their act together. They are 4-6 in their 10 games and have been outscored by 17 runs by their opponents. The pitching has been particularly questioned, with a dull ERA of 5.31 during that stretch.

James Paxton will start on the mound for LA on Sunday. He is 7-2 this season but has a slightly higher-than-expected ERA of 4.38. The 35-year-old hasn't found his rhythm after being hit for nine runs in San Francisco. In his last three starts, he is averaging 9.95 with 21 hits allowed.

Things are exactly the opposite for the Red Sox's Kutter Crawford, who has given up a solitary run in his last three starts. He also has a strong road game record, going 3-2 with a 2.35 ERA.

The Red Sox batting lineup has been blazing in their previous 10 games, averaging .275. Rafael Devers and Jarren Duran continue to lead the lineup, while Tyler O'Neill has been handy with seven RBIs.

For the Dodgers, it is the usual suspects, with the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez. Will Smith is 11-38 with six RBIs in his last 10 games.
