With pitcher Blake Snell on the verge of finalizing his move to the Los Angeles Dodgers, it was initially reported that former teammate Matt Chapman had taken shots at him as he chose to move to one of their fiercest rivals.

However, it was later confirmed that the "insults" were posted via a fake account, and not by Matt Chapman as many fans initially believed.

A post on the popular baseball discussion subreddit r/baseball, which has over 2.8 million members, later confirmed the development.

The post in question was made by an unknown user impersonating Matt Chapman on Instagram, as he posted a photo of Snell accompanied by a snake emoji, with Kodak Black's track "Super Gremlin" playing in the background. The part of the song chosen for the post included the line "You switched up like a pu**y lil b*tch," as the user made his feelings known on Snell's decision to ally with the enemy, per SFgate.

Blake Snell takes to Instagram to tease big move to Los Angeles Dodgers

Having performed well in the 2024 season with the San Francisco Giants, Blake Snell decided to pass up the opportunity to spend an extra year at Oracle Park, and try his luck at free agency instead. It appears things are going just as Snell would have hoped when making that decision, with the lefty reportedly in advanced discussions with the Los Angeles Dodgers to finalize a five-year, $182 million deal.

On Wednesday, Snell took to Instagram to post a picture of himself in blue, sending fans into a frenzy.

Though the obvious talking point surrounding the move is the Giants-Dodgers rivalry, this makes for ominous news for all other major league franchises. Having enjoyed a near-perfect 2024 season, it appears that the Dodgers are more active in the winter than other teams.

With highly-coveted talent Roki Sasaki also reported to be favoring a move to Dodger Stadium, the Blues are well on their way toward building a superb pitching staff that rivals their star-studded offense. The way their front office is operating at the moment, Dodgers fans will be looking forward to the 2025 season with loads of excitement.
