Hal Steinbrenner hints at a possible inclusion of exciting rookie Anthony Volpe in the Yankees' lineup come opening day

As the new MLB season dawns on us, the hype around the rising young star from the Bronx is only getting louder.

Yes, you guessed that right. The name in question is none other than New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe. The swashbuckling young rookie has impressed this spring training and looks set to make his first start come opening day.

The owner of the Yankees, Hal Steinbrenner, also had high words of praise for the young man. And while he did not directly indicate a debut for Volpe come the start of the season, he did tease fans with this:

“If I really, really feel strongly about something, then I’m probably going to make sure it’s done,” Steinbrenner said.

While who he's talking about is still up in the air, the popular opinion will side with Anthony Volpe. Senior players on the team seem to want Anthony Volpe in the setup, according to sources, which only strengthens his claim.

When quizzed directly about the inclusion of Volpe, a very apolitical Steinbrenner kept it very simple, continuing to keep it a secret.

"Anything's possible," Hal reportedly told SNY.

Now, as time will only tell, Yankees fans will be hoping to see him in the lineup come opening day, and while the future looks very bright for the hot young prospect, anything can happen.

The longest-serving owner in the club's history, winning the World Series an astonishing seven times, along with 11 American League pennants, his time at the helm oversaw tons of success that hasn't been replicated since.

The Yankees this season look like contenders who can possibly push for a title.
