Los Angeles Angels slugger Anthony Rendon has been down on the IL since April 21. The third baseman has been dealing with a left hamstring strain that has been difficult to overcome.

After two months on the IL, Rendon's return is just over the horizon. However, he's still deciding if he wants to undergo a rehab assignment, per team beat writer Jeff Fletcher.

So far, Rendon has only been jogging and still has sprinting on consecutive days to tackle. If he can do that without any issues, fans could see him in the lineup in no time.

However, fans are not holding their breath for Rendon's return. His consistent trips to the IL during his stint with the club have completely shaken the fanbase's faith.

"Who cares he'll be done for the season in 5 games" - one fan posted.
"He'll get hurt in the rehab assignment" - posted another.
"What’s the O/U on how many games he plays til he’s right back on the IL?" - posted another.

Since signing his seven-year, $245 million deal with the team in 2020, he has only played 219 games. He has been on the IL more than on the field, and it has surely frustrated fans.

"Wonder if he feels cursed..." - said another fan.
"See him in August - back on DL by Labor Day" - said another.
"Wdym if he needs a rehab start he’s missed two months" - said another.

Rendon is going to have to get back in the lineup and stay there to get back in the good graces of this fanbase. Hopefully, he's up for the task.

The Angels need more than Anthony Rendon to get out of this hole

Many fans are not too excited about Anthony Rendon's return to the lineup and for good reason. With the injury to Mike Trout, the Angels have faltered to holding a 32-46 record.

The team sits in fourth in the American League West, 11.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners. They have a huge hole to climb, and teams like the Houston Astros are starting to get their feet underneath them.

Unless Rendon completely turns this team around, it looks like another lackluster season in Anaheim. However, with the loss of Shohei Ohtani, many were already expecting this coming into the season.
