The 2024 MLB All-Star Game has repeated history with the American League winning the Midsummer Classic 5-3 over the National League at Globe Life Field on Tuesday. The win makes it 10 of the last 11 ASG for the AL.

While fans enjoyed the action from some of the league's best players on display, MLB was once again criticized for the designs of its new uniforms, even by MLB legend Fred Lynn, who voiced his thoughts about the jerseys on social media.

The jerseys and pants having the same color – beige – were off-putting for a lot of fans and even the strayed logo in front of the jersey left many fans with bad taste.

Fred Lynn gave his opinion on the jerseys on X/Twitter:

"“How can you make the fans of your city proud, when you wear THESE uniforms at the All Star Game? Seriously? Lynn asked.

Lynn has played a great part in the history of the All-Star Game, so his opinion holds a lot of value for fans and analysts alike. He has appeared in the All-Star event nine times throughout his career, during which he represented the Boston Red Sox six times and the then-California Angels three times.

Notably, Lynn became the first and only player to have slashed a grand slam in Midsummer Classic history, which made him the All-Star Game MVP back in 1983.

Rob Manfred assures fans about changes in All-Star uniforms for upcoming season

Major League Baseball often gets condemned by its fans over the jerseys selected for the Midsummer Classic. Commissioner Rob Manfred acknowledged this negative sentiment, reassuring fans about internal discussions regarding a potential return to traditional team jerseys for the 2025 season.

Meanwhile, Nike, MLB's official jersey supplier since 2019, is taking a proactive approach. In a joint statement, the league and Nike acknowledged fan concerns and pledged to address them. Their focus will involve larger lettering for player names and expanded customization options for player gear by the 2025 season (via The Athletic's Tyler Kepner):

"I’m aware of the sentiment on this issue," Manfred said. "I think where my head is on it, it’s something we’re going to have a conversation about coming out of the All-Star Game.
"We’ve got a lot of uniform things going on. Obviously the conversations have to involve the players, first and foremost, and Nike and some of our partners, but I am aware of the sentiment and I do know why people kind of like that tradition. There will be conversations about that," he added.

It will be interesting to see exactly what changes and improvements are made to the league's uniforms in the coming seasons.
