"I blame Drake for this pathetic jerseys" - Blue Jays fans raise eyebrows to leaked City Connect uniforms

The Toronto Blue Jays' City Connect jerseys were leaked early, and the initial fan reaction is less than positive. Most teams are getting these special, creative uniforms in 2024, and the Blue Jays are set to have some this season as well.

It is a leak, so it may not be the final product, but the image is a picture of the physical jersey. That makes it harder to fake and less likely it's not the actual jersey.

It is in keeping with what seems to be an almost universal theme for City Connect jerseys: black and blue. The Blue Jays' version does sprinkle in some orange, but the main color theme is still present. It has not been met with universal praise, though some fans enjoy them.

"Marshall’s/T.J. Maxx/Outlet specials," one fan joked.
"Are they even trying anymore?" another asked.

As mentioned, not everyone was upset with this leaked jersey. Some fans think they're quite nice.

"These go hard," another fan chimed in.
"People hate on every new jersey even if they’re good…these are sick alternates!" a fan exclaimed.

The reaction was largely negative, even prompting some to lash out at Toronto-based rapper Drake in the process, but it was not a universal hatred for the latest alternate jersey reveal.

Which teams do not have a City Connect jersey?

With the Toronto Blue Jays adding a City Connect jersey to their roster, the list of teams without a special alternate uniform dwindles even further. One team that doesn't and may not ever is the New York Yankees, a franchise so committed to their traditions that they don't allow facial hair.

The only other team that doesn't have one is the Oakland Athletics, and that could be linked to their unclear future in the city.

Nevertheless, by the end of this 2024 regular season, every single team aside from those two will have debuted a City Connect.

Several teams, like the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Angels, debuted theirs in years past, but soon 28 squads will have these alternates in their rotation.
