Cleveland Guardians pitcher Shane Bieber penned a heartfelt message for his wife, Kara Maxine, on her birthday. He posted a series of images of the duo enjoying time in various landscapes.
The caption on the Instagram post read:
"I’ll go anywhere with you. Happy birthday beautiful."
Kara and Shane Bieber crossed paths for the first time while they were studying at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). Bieber committed to playing college with the UCSB Guachos and spent the subsequent years playing in the West Coast and Cape Cod baseball leagues.
While the duo had started dating each other, the Cleveland Guardians came calling for the pitching ace in 2016. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB draft by the Guardians.
Meanwhile, after dating for more than five years, the couple decided to take the next step in their lives and got engaged in 2021, three years after Shane had made his big league debut with Cleveland.
The couple got married in January 2023 with all friends and family members in attendance at a beautiful location in Malibu. Kara, being a spirit enthusiast herself, started her entrepreneurial journey after launching her own fashion brand, KM Collection.
She has provided unwavering and unconditional support to Shane Bieber as he recoverrs from Tommy John surgery. After just two starts this season, he was sidelined due to an ulnar collateral ligament injury on his pitching arm in early April.
After the announcement of the RHP requiring surgery to repair his injury, he was sidelined for the entirety of the season. Bieber had signed a one-year, $13.125 million deal with the Guardians this past offseason. Kara has been omnipresent around Shane as he makes his recovery from injury.
Kara Maxine reaffirmed successful Tommy John surgery for Shane Bieber in April
After Shane Bieber's successful Tommy John surgery to repair his ulnar collateral ligament, his wife took to Instagram to post a story reaffirming his successful operation. She wrote:
"Bionic Bieber. God is good. Successful surgery"
Shane Bieber will be out of contract after the 2024 MLB season. His current injury is going to massively hamper his case for signing with the Guardians or a new ballclub for the 2025 season.
