Gerrit Cole's wife, Amy Cole, is a loving wife and a mother to their two kids, Caden and Everett. She has provided Gerrit with towering support over the years through all his endeavors, both on and off the field of baseball.
While the Yankees ace is making strides in rehab to make an effective comeback to the roster this campaign, Amy showcased her love for the ace pitcher for being a hero dad on Father's Day. She edited together some heartfelt videos and images between Gerrit Cole and his sons Caden and Everett and posted the same on her Instagram account with the caption:
"In their eyes, you hung the moon. Grateful every day to experience such a love. Happy Father's Day, @gerritcole45"
Gerrit and Amy Cole met at the campus of the University of California when both of them were playing ball with the Bruins athletic teams. While Amy went on to win the 2010 Women's College World Series with the UCLA Bruins, Gerrit became the first UCLA player to get drafted as the first overall pick in the 2011 MLB draft.
After years of dating, the duo finally decided to take the next step in their relationship, as Gerrit proposed to her after the 2015 All-Star game. The couple exchanged vows in a beautiful wedding affair at the Ritz Carlton in Santa Barbara, California, on November 12, 2016.
"I remember watching friends and family members from all different paths of our lives enjoying one another, laughing, singing, and tearing up the dance floor. I'll never forget how special that was to take in," Amy on her wedding nuptials with Gerrit via PEOPLE.
The couple was blessed with their first child, Caden, on June 30, 2020, while their second son, Everett, was born on January 2, 2023. While the 2023 AL Cy Young ace is yet to make a start this season, he has been sweating it out with his rehab starts in the MiLB to make an effective comeback for the Yankees.
Gerrit Cole remains optimistic of making a return for the NY Yankees this season
After his latest outing with the Yankees triple-A unit, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, in the minor league on Friday, Gerrit Cole said:
"I'm very much wanting to get back very soon. What a fun club they are right now. So yeah, that's part of the reason why I'm just trying to make sure that I'm in a good spot to help them."
As Gerrit Cole edges towards his first start of the season with the Yankees, it will be interesting to see the organization's decision on the ace pitcher in the coming days.
