San Diego Padres star outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. is a style icon often talked about for his characteristic outfits and customized cleats on game days. During their three-game series against the New York Mets at Citi Field, Tatis was seen rocking customized Bapesta "Superstars" cleats. The shoes stole the show with their off-white cream color, featuring a signature star design on the side.

Take a look at Tatis Jr.'s customized cleats here:

Bapesta or Bape, short for 'A Bathing Ape,' is a Japanese fashion brand known for its lifestyle and footwear products. The cleats were specifically designed for the baseball star.

Although Fernando Tatis Jr. turned heads for his outfit, he could only rake in one hit and a walk in four at-bats during Game 2, which the Padres lost 5-1. San Diego also lost Game 3 on Sunday, as Tatis Jr. went hitless in the series finale. New York was on the march, as the team won the tie 11-6. The Padres are currently 37-38 for the season and have acquired the second spot in the NL West standings, eight games behind the division leader, the LA Dodgers.

Fernando Tatis Jr., despite hitting a slump, has been one of the better players on the Padres this season.

Fernando Tatis Jr. has been fairly decent with the bat for the Padres in 2024

Tatis Jr. started the season slow, picked up the pace, only to fall into a minor slump again. Despite his current struggles at the plate, he remains a dominant player for the underperforming San Diego Padres. In 75 games in 2024, Fernando Tatis Jr. is batting with an average of .272 with 13 home runs, 35 RBIs and an OPS of .808.

The Padres look heavily depleted, but with half the season left, there is still time for San Diego to bounce back and hope to rely on stars like Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Luis Arraez and Dylan Cease to push their case forward for a deep playoff run in 2024.
