“Is he going to swing at that again?” – Trevor Bauer questions Mexican League opponent before recording epic strikeout

There are many things that baseball fans can say about Trevor Bauer, however a lack of confidence is not one of them. The former NL Cy Young Award winner has never been one to hold back his thoughts and emotions, sometimes to his detriment.

Despite attempting to earn another opportunity in the MLB, the former All-Star has continued to be himself on the mound.

The 33-year-old has been plying his trade with the Diablos Rojos del México this year as he looks to prove himself to clubs in the MLB. The move to the Mexican League is yet to result in a new major league contract for Trevor Bauer, however, it has helped keep him in the headlines for baseball fans.

Bauer has been consistently posting clips of his Mexican League outings, showcasing not only his ability to rack up strikeouts but also his personality as he does it.

In one of his most recent videos, Bauer can be seen discussing his plan of attack against one of his opponents, questioning himself on the mound in the middle of the game.

"Okay, what does that tell me?" Bauer asked himself after recording a swing-and-miss on a slider. "Is he going to swing at that again?" He again asked himself after second strikeout on a slider outside the zone.

"We gotta go down and away," the former Cincinnati Reds ace said before gearing up for a juicy fastball. "Oh you're lucky, I missed my spot," Bauer said after a foul ball.

Trevor Bauer would get the last laugh, both literally and figuratively, recording a strikeout on a splitter before laughing at his opponent.

The video that Bauer shared highlighted only one of his many strikeouts this year. The former Los Angeles Dodgers star has been a force to be reckoned with this season for the Diablos Rojos del México. Through 83.1 innings, Trevor Bauer has posted a 10-0 record with a 2.48 ERA and 120 strikeouts.

Although the brash starting pitcher has been crushing it this season, some experts and fans have raised questions about the level of competition in the Mexican League.

Regardless of whether or not Bauer's opponents are top-tier talents, he has shown plenty of life in his pitching arm. All this being said, it remains to be seen if he will ever receive another contract offer with an MLB club.
