New York Mets owner Steve Cohen's noncommital response to their Juan Soto pursuit has amused fans, who took to social media to share their reactions.
The two New York teams are frontrunners for the highly regarded free agent. With Mets fans seeking some positive insight from Cohen on Soto's future, Cohen's unclear response left them in stiches on Reddit:
"Juan Soto will be continuously traded between Mets & Yankees," wrote one fan on Reddit.

"But what if several teams agree to a time share?," joked another.
While some joked about Cohen's obvious response, others took a dig Soto's unwillingness to commit to a team.
"Hal and Stevie are going to go halvsies," wrote @scrodytheroadie.
"I appreciate this being an email instead of a meeting. Solid leadership," added @Freeze.
"Coquettish little minx that he is… it’s possible," posted @ClydeAnd Keith.
Since taking over the majority ownership of the club in 2020, Steve Cohen has been a big spender in the market, with the one of the deepest pockets among the MLB owners.
He e has ushered in a new era for the New York Mets in his quest for the World Series title. It's fair to say that the club has gathered momentum under his ownership even though they haven't reached their ultimate goal yet.
However, they are publicly eager to sign the biggest free agent available in the market in Juan Soto. His success with the New York Yankees last year is evidence that Soto could be a huge asset to the Mets. Understandably, Mets fans are excited with the possibility of having the Dominican in their team next season, but Cohen hasn't provided a clear answer on where they stand in the superstar's pursuit.
MLB insider lists five teams who have made offers for Juan Soto
Juan Soto and his agent Scott Boras have been busy over the past few weeks of free agency, having met several MLB teams.
According to MLB insider Jon Morosi, five teams have been made offers to Soto: Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Mets.
All teams have reportedly made meaningful offers, while it's expected that the Mets will table the biggest one. However, only time will tell who will land Soto on a long-term deal.
