Gavin Stone and the Los Angeles Dodgers won Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox 4-0 at Guaranteed Rate Field. With the win, the Dodgers swept the three-game series against the White Sox

Right-handed pitcher Gavin Stone showcased his prowess by pitching a complete game shutout against the White Sox, allowing only four hits and striking out seven. The 25-year-old improved his record on the season to 9-2 with an ERA of 2.73.

Discussing his performance, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said:

“He looked like the Bulldog tonight. That was really fun to watch. I think you can sense a player when the game slows down when they can specifically a starting pitcher but also understand what’s around and what’s happening around them,” Roberts said. (0:15)
“Today, we were coming into the game very short in the ‘pen. And so certainly, to be able to keep that in the back of your mind and know what's expected of you as a starter on that particular night, and then to still go out there and execute pitches and do what he did, was pretty special,” Roberts added.

Stone became the first Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher to throw a complete game since Walker Buehler pitched a three-hit shutout against the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 25, 2022.
