MLB fans go wild over viral video of the KBO Bunt League

American sports All-Star games like the MLB's have become popular for being an explosive fusion of sports and festivities. They have a history of causing frenzied pandemonium every time they take place.

The festivities revolving around the MLB, NBA, and NFL events are unmatched and attract a huge fan following, to say the least.

While these All-Star festivities are often the talk of the town, the KBO League, South Korea's premier baseball league, comes in with a strong shout with their lesser-known commodity: the KBO Bunt King competition.

The objective of the Bunt Derby at the Korean All-Star Game is for the batter to lay down a bunt in either of the two concentric circles on the field's first and third base sides. It is like Skee-Ball but on a baseball mound.

Baseball fans on Twitter went into a frenzy after a viral video of the KBO Bunt League competition surfaced online. While there were mixed reactions to the event, plenty suggested adding it to the MLB All-Star Game.

"Friendly reminder that the KBO Bunt King competition blows any other All-Star festivities out of the water" - Jomboy Media, Twitter

This fan doesn't rate the Majors very highly when it comes to bunting a ball into a concentric circle.

Incredibly impressed by the event, this fan cheekily believes that it should become an Olympic sport.

This one seems pretty upbeat about the competition and anticipates San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford to ace it.

MLB counterpart, KBO, is known for its vocal and exuberant fan base

The KBO League is the most popular sports league in South Korea and was founded in 1982 with six franchises.

The KBO "appears to be somewhere between Double-A and Triple-A, on average, though the best players are more likely to be MLB-quality than your typical Double-A league" in comparison with American Major League Baseball, reported ESPN.

KBO is historically the most famous for its widespread vocal and exuberant fans. They are also popular for their bat flips, a tradition that dates back to the 1990s.
