MLB fans troll Carlos Rodon for suggesting that he is ready to pitch in the World Series for the Yankees

New York Yankees new signing Carlos Rodon during his time with the San Francisco Giants

Carlos Rodon, the former pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, recently expressed his interest in pitching in the World Series for the New York Yankees. However, his comments did not sit well with many MLB fans, who trolled him on Twitter for suggesting that he could help the Yankees win a championship.

Rodon, who signed a six-year contract with the Yankees this off-season, is no stranger to controversy. During his time with the White Sox, he suffered a wrist injury after stumbling and falling on the dugout stairs as he was making his way out. Being placed on the 15-day disabled list only added to his humiliation. Injuries have plagued his career since then, discouraging many teams from signing him.

Rodon was recently asked about his plans for the upcoming season, and he expressed a desire to pitch in the World Series for the Yankees.

"The biggest thing for me coming over and meeting the New York Yankees was just the track record, where there's always a chance to be the last one standing. I'm excited to see what it's like to pitch in an ALCS or eventually pitch in a World Series."

Many fans, however, were quick to point out the irony in Rodon's remarks, given that the Yankees have not been known for their postseason success in recent years. Indeed, the team has not won a championship since 2009 and has only appeared in the World Series once in the last two decades.

One fan tweeted:

"If you wanted to win, you should've gone to Houston, LA, or Atlanta."

Another pointed out that Rodon's former team, the White Sox, had actually won a playoff game against the Astros, something the Yankees had failed to do in recent years.

"Lol, at least the White Sox won a game against the Astros."

Can Carlos Rodon prove his critics wrong and have a successful postseason with the Yankees?

Despite the backlash, Carlos Rodon remains confident in his ability to help the New York Yankees have a good season, and has vowed to do whatever it takes to get there. Whether or not Rodon gets the chance to pitch in the World Series for the Yankees remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: he has already become a lightning rod for controversy and criticism among MLB fans.
