As the 2024 MLB season marches on, more and more teams are beginning to tepidly consider the postseason, and how they might fare between now and the Fall. As such, making sure that top players are in healthy condition is paramount, but the 162-game season always takes it's toll.

Today, we will be profiling some of the biggest injury-related news from around MLB, as well as providing some critical updates regarding the conditions of the players involved.

MLB Injury Report

Clayton Kershaw

Three-time Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw underwent surgery to on his glenohumeral ligaments, which has kept the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher out of action thus far in 2024.

However, the 36-year-old now appears one step closer to making his first start since last September. It has been confirmed that the 6-foot-4 leftie will make a Single-A rehab start on Wednesday for Rancho Cucamonga.

Mookie Betts

When Mookie Betts' hand was drilled by a pitch during the Dodgers' Sunday game against the Kansas City Royals, fans immediately feared the worst. Subsequent tests have confirmed those fears. On account of a fractured hand, Betts will be out for several months. After the game, an emotional Betts extolled his teammates to carry on, saying "I'll be watching the boys and cheering them on."

Corbin Carroll

2023 NL Rookie of the Year Corbin Carroll is scheduled for an MRI in Pheonix on Monday after showing some discomfort during the D-Backs fixture against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday.

Although nothing has been confirmed, Carroll claimed after his team's 12-5 win on Sunday that he was "feeling pretty good" and hopes to play at some point in his team's upcoming series against the Nationals.

Anthony Rizzo

New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo left his team's Sunday affair in Boston after he fell on his right arm as a result of a collision with Boston pitcher Brennan Bernardino. Though initial X-Ray imaging did not confirm any structural damage, the first baseman will undergo further testing Monday.

Last season, multiple injuries limited Anthony Rizzo to just 99 games, which was the fewest number of appearances for the 34-year-old since his sophomore MLB season of 2012.

Brandon Crawford

Veteran shortstop Brandon Crawford exited the Cards' Sunday game against the Chicago Cubs due to a left hamstring cramp. While it is unclear whether or not this ailment will persist, other injuries have limited Crawford to just 14 games for the Cardinals since he signed his one-year, $2 million deal with the team this past offseason.
