Baltimore Orioles slugger Anthony Santander has become one of the hottest names on the free-agent market, sparking plenty of buzz about his potential landing spots for the 2025 season.
While the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels are leading the charge to secure the power-hitting outfielder, two more teams have quietly entered the race.
MLB insider Robert Murray has scooped on two more teams in Santander conversation on the latest episode of "The Baseball Insiders" podcast with Adam Weinrib. He considers the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox to be in the mix for Anthony Santander as well.
"So, the Blue Jays have been connected. They have had dialogue there. The Tigers have had dialogue as well. I'm under the impression, as Evan Petzold reported, that Bregman, I think, would be their preferred option, and then Santander would be kind of the backup," Murray said. "The Angels are involved there as well. I don't know to what extent, but those are the three teams I'm looking at here.
"It would not be a surprise whatsoever to see another team potentially hop into the sweepstakes, especially as these guys linger on the market, but those are the three teams that I've heard the most prominently mentioned there, and maybe a Boston match in there as well, but I think I haven't heard them as strong as the others for whatever that's worth," he added.

There hasn't been any deal closed with Anthony Santander, and as of now, the right fielder is keeping his options open.
Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly made an $82 million offer to Anthony Santander
The Toronto Blue Jays have made a long leap ahead of the other three teams, as they've reportedly thrown in their pitch to Anthony Santander, which is a four-year, $82 million contract. The Blue Jays are looking to strengthen their outfield, and Santander could bolster their position in the American League East, alongside stalwarts like Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Santander had a great season with the Orioles in 2024, as he managed to hit 44 homers and 102 RBIs while maintaining a batting average of .235. He also won his career's first Silver Slugger award and got into the American League All-Star team in 2024.
As per MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, Anthony Santander is looking for a minimum of $100 million, five-year deal, so the Blue Jays have made an offer closer in favor of the outfielder.
