Anthony Volpe, the highly touted prospect in the New York Yankees organization, has been making headlines on social media after a video of his impressive performances in spring training went viral.

The video, which was shared widely on Twitter, shows Volpe doing some top-notch defensive work at shortstop. After a productive season with the Somerset Patriots, the youngster is widely touted to be included on the Yankees roster for the upcoming season.

Volpe was drafted 30th overall by the Yankees in 2019 out of Delbarton High School in New Jersey. He had a standout career in high school, earning Gatorade New Jersey Player of the Year honors as a senior after hitting .482 with eight home runs, 36 RBIs, and 32 stolen bases in just 29 games.

Since joining the Yankees, Volpe has continued to impress. In his first professional season in 2019, he hit .215 with two home runs and 11 RBIs in 34 games for the Pulasaki Yankees. He also stole 13 bases and had .742 OPS.

In a recent spring training video released by an MLB insider, Anthony Volpe's defensive skills caught the attention of many Yankees fans who are eager to see him in Major League Baseball.

One fan tweeted:

"If this man ain’t on the opening day roster, I’m done with the Yankees."

Another wrote:

"Kid is special! Future."

Last year, Volpe started the season with the Somerset Patriots in the Double-A Eastern League.

He batted .252 with 18 home runs and 60 RBIs in 109 games for Somerset and was promoted to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders of the Triple-A International League in September 2022.

Can Anthony Volpe produce breakout season with New York Yankees this year?

Anthony Volpe has all the tools to be a successful MLB player. He's a gifted athlete with a strong arm, excellent range and quick feet.

He's also a smart hitter with a good eye at the plate and ability to drive the ball to all corners. Fans believe that current second-choice at shortstop, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, is a weak link in the team and would like Volpe to replace him.

As the New York Yankees continue to search for ways to improve their roster and get back to the World Series, Volpe could be a key piece of the puzzle. If he continues to develop at the rate he has, he could be a fixture in the Bronx for years to come.
