New York Mets owner Steve Cohen responded to criticism from fellow MLB owners regarding his spending, and he did not hold back. Cohen made it clear with this free agency that all he cares about is winning, no matter the cost. This ruffled the feathers of some other owners, who were unwilling to dig as deep into their pockets.Having a financial advantage over other teams is a very underrated but ever-present part of the game. There is a reason teams that spend the most not only reach the playoffs, but make deep runs at the World Series championship. If there are no rules being broken, why should an owner not take any advantage they can? If the goal is to win, it will take a total commitment from every part of the team, including ownership.
