The New York Mets are getting ready for what they believe will be a great season for them. Players have reported to Spring Training and are starting to get into their regiments.

This includes newly acquired Japanese star pitcher Kodai Senga. He took the mound to throw during live batting practice and did not disappoint.

There were worries that Senga may not adapt to the slightly bigger, differently textured baseball the MLB uses. The league also uses a steeper mound than the one Senga is used to in the Nippon League. However, he seems to be throwing just fine.

Newly acquired Tommy Pham got a taste of his most hyped pitch, the ghost forkball. The ghost forkball resembles a fastball out of the pitcher's hand, then dives before reaching home plate.

"Nah that break is generational," one fan tweeted.
"Guy is a maniac. Can't wait," another fan responded.

New York Mets fans got their first look at the "flame-thrower's" best pitch, and they were impressed. They believe he's going to be a problem on the mound for opposing hitters this year.

Senga will make for a great third or fourth starter behind Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer. The pitching staff is going to be a problem for the rest of the league.

From starters to the bullpen, the New York Mets have a lot of arms that can lockdown a game. Their starting rotation is comprised of Verlander, Scherzer, Senga, Jose Quintana, and Carlos Carrasco. They also have David Peterson and Tylor Megil, who made starts last season but will likely see a shift to the bullpen.

Their core bullpen is dangerous. It consists of David Robertson, who carried a 2.40 ERA over 58 appearances last season. Adam Ottavino is another name that's going to get some late-inning work. He's coming off a couple of down years, but the Mets are sure he can figure it out and get back to his dominant ways.

Now, if the Mets have a lead going into the ninth, it's pretty much over. They have one of the best closers in Edwin Diaz. He took over the baseball world last season, and he's looking to keep up that momentum in 2023.
