The New York Yankees are well on their way to forming a solid lineup for the next MLB season, but fans on social media have claimed that it's not good enough to win the World Series.
After missing out on Juan Soto earlier this month, the New York front office have added Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt to the roster in hopes of a successful season next year. However, despite the lineup shaping up nicely after adding two former MVPs, fans are still not convinced:
"Not enough to beat Dodgers," one tweeted.
"That is horrible," added another.
While some fans complained that the lineup isn't good enough, others had no shortage of suggestions about what changes need to be made:
"Yankees need a 3rd baseman and maybe a second baseman," wrote @ExcclesiaLatin on X.
"In what world is Goldy cleanup over Stanton?" asked @_rexic_.
"Starting to look like moves just to make moves," added @_CBLOC_.
While some fans may not be impressed, the New York Yankees front office has made some shrewd and positive moves over the past few days.
Having signed Cody Bellinger, Paul Goldschmidt, Devin Williams and Max Fried recently, they have made an all-round improvement to the roster. Rumors suggest that they are also looking to add a third baseman.
Their potential lineup for next year consists of Aaron Judge, Anthony Volpe, Giancarlo Stanton, Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt to name a few. There are no doubts, though, that some areas can still be improved.
Former Braves ace Max Fried speaks for the first time since signing with the Yankees
Last week, Max Fried signed an eight-year, $218 million contract with the New York Yankees as one of the top pitching free agents available in the market.
At his presentation as a new Yankee, he shared his excitement for the upcoming season:
"There's no bigger stage than pitching in New York. ... there's a different feel when you step into the stadium."
Max Fried has established himself as one of the best pitchers in the country over the last few years. He won the World Series with the Atlanta Braves in 2022 and has made two All-Star appearances.
