Jose Canseco's daughter Josie's love for animals is no secret. The Victoria's Secret model has let it known through her actions and words about her stance against animal cruelty and she has worked with many charities for the same.
On Thursday, she re-shared a video from a safari park visitor where one tourist was feeding plastic bags to hippopotamus inside a lake. This instance of animal cruelty melted her heart as she went off on social media:
"Nothing pisses me off more. How tf do people have the nerve to do this to an animal," Josie wrote in her story.
The Safari Park in the story is in West Java, Indonesia, where a hippo was expecting food to be thrown in its mouth. Instead, a passenger in the car threw a plastic bag in its mouth, which could result in serious injury or death to this innocent hippo.
The video was originally shared by a charitable organization named Karmagawa.
Josie Canseco staunchly against animal cruelty while striving to bring awareness among people
On numerous occasions, Josie Canseco has used her platform to talk about animal cruelty. In one interview, she mentioned developing love and care for animals while working on farms and shelters when she was just 10.
"I’ve always had a soft spot for animals, and the way they feel and love humans, but without any voice," Canseco said in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
"The way they suffer and are mistreated by humans on occasions breaks my heart, so I’ve been working on farms and with animal shelters since I was around 10 years old. It’s important to me because I feel it’s my purpose, to help and nurture these vulnerable animals."
Caseco's social media feed also includes examples of animal cruelty and how she is trying to make a difference.
In an exclusive interview with Flaunt, Canseco also said she started working with a local animal charity, "The Real Bark." It is an animal shelter in Silverlake, California which specializes in rehabilitating dogs who are viewed as "tough cases."
