The Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins met up on Saturday to play Game 3 of their four-game series. While Miami took Game 1, Philadelphia shut out Miami on Friday to even up the series.

After shutting down Miami Friday, they could not repeat that magic. They would end up losing the game by a score of 3-2, dropping their record to 54-29, which is still the best in baseball.

Philadelphia could not get the offense going, only getting five hits in the ballgame. Five starters failed to get a hit as Roddery Munoz and Miami's bullpen were efficient.

Aaron Nola was also efficient during his outing, going 6.2 innings, and giving up three runs on six hits while striking out nine batters. He just could not get the run support he was looking for, leading to a frustrating day for the fanbase.

"Pathetic team right now" - one fan said.
"Really can't beat one of the worst teams in the league" - said another.
"Gonna be a rough couple of weeks.." - said another.

Fans are expecting the team to slump a bit with sluggers Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber. The duo was placed on the 10-day IL following Thursday's action.

"Ouch" - said another.
"Super embarrassing loss. Wow" - said another.
"Anyone gonna step up?" - said another.

Fans want to see somebody on this team step up with their stars on the IL. They cannot go the next few weeks looking like this and expect to keep MLB's best record.

Phillies could see their injured sluggers back in the lineup as early as July 9

The Phillies dodged a major bullet when it came to the severity of Bryce Harper's and Kyle Schwarber's injuries. Harper is dealing with a left hamstring strain, while Schwarber is dealing with a left groin strain, but both seem to be mild cases.

Manager Rob Thomsom does not seem too worried about the injuries and expects the sluggers to return to the lineup in no time. The earliest the duo can come off the injured list and return to the lineup is July 9.

For Philadelphia, they are set to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland Athletics during that time. After that, the team will have a few days off as we get into the 2024 MLB All-Star break.
