New York Yankees Hall of Fame outfielder Reggie Jackson is set to release his documentary "Reggie" on Friday. He says that he is focused on speaking the truth and providing his side of the story.
The highly anticipated work will touch on his time with the Yankees, his relationship with George Steinbreener, rivalry with Billy Martin and several other topics.
Jackson was never far from controversy during his time in baseball. He is known for his flash and talent on the field, but also for his outspoken nature off it. The energetic and spirited player had issues with coaches, teammates and even owners during career.
After an illustrious 21-year-career in the majors, Jackson spent time with the New York Yankees front office. In the documentary, he discussed his reasons for finally leaving the organization

"Sometimes I feel like a hood ornament"
Per a recent article by Don Burke in the New York Post, Jackson said he was unable to have a voice within the organization, especially after George Steinbrenner's death. He believes the changes in the game, including the heavy focus on analytics, limited his ability to make a difference.

Jackson said it was difficult to leave the Yankees for a position with the Houston Astros. He added:
"That was a big decision. I expected to be there for life"
The documentary also touches on numerous other issues, including Jackson's battle with depression and his views on race in baseball.

He won five championships with the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees and was a two-time World Series MVP. He was selected to the All-Star Game on 14 occasions and led the American League in home runs in four different seasons.
The man known as "Mr. October" was famous for coming up with clutch hits when it counted the most. Over 77 postseason games, he finished with 18 home runs and 48 RBIs.
