The 2022 season marked Cortes' greatest season to date. He made 28 starts and finished 12-4 with a 2.44 ERA.He attributes his outstanding campaign to the strength and conditioning department of the Yankees, but it's sad for Team USA that he won't be playing any further part in the World Baseball Classic.
