San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. got fans on their feet after blasting a two-run home run in the second inning of Game 2 of the NLDS on Tuesday. After the Los Angeles Dodgers took a 1-0 lead thanks to a Mookie Betts solo homer, the Padres responded with a six-run second inning which was capped by Tatis Jr.'s two-run blast.
In comparison, Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has failed to make much of an impact in his first postseason run, leading some MLB fans to question his performance.
“The Dodgers are wasting Shohei Ohtani’s career,” wrote one fan on X/Twitter. "Tatis>Ohtani," added another.

While some took the opportunity to troll Ohtani, others were amazed as Tatis Jr. continued his amazing postseason performances over the years.
"I think he likes the playoffs," wrote @MattSkraby.
"Tatis owns October," added @optimal_bets.
"Impossible not be impressed," wrote @TheSkippersView.
Fernando Tatis Jr. was originally signed by the Chicago White Sox as an international free agent back in 2015. However, he was traded to the Padres less than a year later and went on to make his major league debut with them in 2019. He has since grown into one of the best players in the MLB, finishing the 2021 season as the NL home run leader.
Over the years, Tatis has built a reputation of delivering big performances in the postseason and he is doing exactly that this season as well. While Teoscar Hernandez replied with a grand slam for the Dodgers in the third, Tatis Jr.'s two-run blast in the second inning was enough to win the game for the Padres.
Luis Arraez lauds Fernando Tatis Jr. after his home run clinches Game 3 for Padres
Fernando Tatis Jr. is truly a man for the big occasions as he continues his red-hot form in the MLB postseason this year. He blasted his third home run of the NLDS to help the San Diego Padres take a 2-1 lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. Speaking to the media after the game, Padres first baseman Luis Arraez was full of praise for his teammate:
"He is fun to watch... if he is healthy, he can do a lot of good things," Arraez said.
Like Arraez, Padres fans have also been amazed as Tatis continues to put up amazing numbers in the postseason. While the Dodgers may have been the favorites before the start of the series, the Padres are now only one win away from winning the NLDS.
