Rookie sensation Paul Skenes has been striking out MLB batters at a breakneck clip. Now 6-2 with a 2.25 ERA in 15 starts for the Pittsburgh Pirates this season, he now has 18 strikeouts over his past 17 innings and has one of the best strikeouts per nine innings figures in MLB.

#3. Aaron Nola: Over 6.5 +115
Now with seven earned runs over his 11 innings, Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola is in the midst of a rough stretch. However, against Friday's opponents, the Washington Nationals, Nola has historically thrived and boasts 191 strikeouts over 31 games against the divisional rivals.
#4. Corbin Burnes: Over 5.5 -120
Former Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes' 137 strikeouts this season leads the Baltimore Orioles, and was enough to earn him his fourth straight All-Star appearance. Now 12-4 on the season, Burnes' 2.71 ERA is his lowest since winning the Cy Young in 2021. Burnes, 29, will make his 25th start of the season on Friday against Boston.
#5. Spencer Schwellenbach: Over 6.5 -110
Atlanta Braves' Spencer Schwellenbach has posted 28 strikeouts over his past 20 innings, spread out across three games. Now 4-5 with a 3.95 ERA on the season, the pitcher also boasts 77 strikeouts in 70 innings.
