Fans reacted as Tommy Pham might find himself on another team at the 2024 MLB trade deadline. Pham has been linked with trade rumors for quite a while, and the San Diego Padres might let go of the veteran slugger.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, the possibility of Pham being traded cannot be ruled out. The trade deadline is less than two weeks away, and a few teams have reportedly said to have interest in Pham
According to MLB analyst Jon Heyman, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Kansas City Royals are said to be interested in a trade for Pham. MLB fans took to social media to share their thoughts.
They weren't happy about Tommy Pham being a potential trade option for their team. Here's a look at some of the fan reactions.
"Tommy Pham isn’t built for a big market, he’s too emotional. He’ll crash out on Twitter if he starts hearing it from the fans if he doesn’t perform. But who knows, maybe I’m wrong," one fan wrote.
"I speak for everyone when I say we don’t want him in KC," another fan added.
"That’s a great bench bat for October, yall buggin," one fan added.
Several Royals and Phillies fans expressed their disinterest in Pham.
"Horrible fit for the Phillies! Keep him away from our clubhouse vibes!" one fan wrote.
"No thanks. Royals can have him," one fan chipped in.
"Funny how no team that's had him before is ever interested in bringing him back," one fan wrote.
Tommy Pham's struggles continue at the plate
Hardly a year back, Tommy Pham and the Arizona Diamondbacks played the World Series. After going all the way in 2023, Pham has struggled in 2024.
Pham smashed only four home runs this season, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. The White Sox are in poor shape, and Pham's decline hasn't helped them in any way.
Pham has a batting clip of .264 with a .339 OBP and a .707 OPS. He recorded 16 RBIs in 231 appearances at the plate. It's a tough season for Pham. Perhaps, a new team would help him get on track.
