The Toronto Blue Jays could not get their bats going against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday. Unlike their 10-9 victory on Opening Day on Thursday, they could only muster up one run today.They lost to the Cardinals 4-1 on Saturday. The only player with multiple hits in the ball game was veteran Kevin Kiermaier. Slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 0-2 with three walks, while George Springer went 0-5 with two strikeouts.Starting pitcher Kevin Gausman didn't have a bad outing for the Blue Jays today. They made a ton of moves to upgrade their roster and put them in a position to win a lot of baseball games.One of these moves included signing the only guy to have multiple hits on Saturday, Kevin Kiermaier. While he's not known for his bat much, he's a great center fielder who can cover a ton of ground.The team also added Daulton Varsho in the offseason. Toronto engaged in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks, sending Lourdes Gurriel Jr. to Arizona for Varsho. Varsho is a great player who can not only help in the outfield but has experience in the catching position as well.The Blue Jays are going to be a team that could surprise many around the league this season.
