Toronto Blue Jays fan favorite Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has generously donated 100 prepaid Presto Cards to the Jays Care Foundation. These cards will enable the club’s RBI Summer Edition youth staff to commute to and from their school free of cost.

The Jays Care Foundation, a non-profit organization of the Toronto Blue Jays, expressed their gratitude to Guerrero Jr. on their Instagram for his selfless support for the well-being of the youths.

“A huge thank you to @vladdyjr27 [Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Instagram handle] for generously donating 100 prepaid Presto Cards to our RBI Summer Edition youth staff! This will allow our camp leaders to commute to and from school at no cost.”

The Presto Card is a contactless smart card that automatically collects public transit fares in Ontario, Canada, particularly Greater Toronto, Hamilton, and Ottawa. Before the start of this season, Guerrero Jr. settled his arbitration for a $19.9 million contract with the Blue Jays. He has one more arbitration season left before becoming eligible for free agency for the first time.

The Dominican infielder has been a regular invitee to All-Star games since 2021. Additionally, he has won a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger and was also an AL MVP finalist in 2021, losing to then-Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. founded a new charity organization

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has established the VG27 Foundation Inc., a non-profit charity organization. It aims to assist children and youths in America and Canada through various educational and environmental programs and projects.

Guerrero Jr. and his family have been involved in charitable work in the Dominican Republic for years. This marks his first initiative to promote well-being outside his home country.

“I know that together we will do a great job. Together we will change the course of thousands of people who get up every day with the hope that their living conditions improve,” he wrote on Instagram.

After getting swept by rivals the Boston Red Sox, the Blue Jays will be heading to Progressive Field for a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians on Friday.
