Trevor Bauer has made it his objective to one day return to the MLB as a pitcher. The former Cy Young Award winner has not thrown a pitch in the majors since 2021. However, he has not given up on reaching this level again in his professional career.
Following sexual assault allegations made back in 2021, the civil dispute between Bauer and his accuser was settled out of court. Since then, Trevor Bauer has been playing in various baseball leagues across the globe. In order to prove that he can still deliver at an elite level, Bauer played in Japan last season before jumping to the Mexican League this year with the Diablos Rojos del México.
Bauer has remained open and active on social media throughout this journey, giving fans an insight into his strategy and personality on the mound. In a recent video shared on his social media platforms, Bauer can be seen verbalizing his plan of attack against one of his Mexican League opponents.

"We've got Ortiz, can't handle fastballs up and in, so he is out guy," Bauer says to himself in the video.
Bauer threw multiple pitches, forcing a 1-2 count before deciding that he should look to use an offspeed throw to get a strikeout.
“We’ve got to bounce it,” the former Los Angeles Dodgers star said to himself. "This one has to be on the plate," he continued. "1-2, he just swung at that one, hand aggressive, out in front, below the zone," Trevor Bauer said to himself as he planned his next pitch.
Bauer then threw an impressive curveball to rack up the strikeout and end the at-bat.
Trevor Bauer struggled mightily during his last Mexican League start
The former Cincinnati Reds star has been dominant during his first season in the Mexican League. Bauer has been nearly untouchable at times this year, even setting a new league record with a whopping 19 strikeouts in one game.
That being said, things did not go according to plan during his most recent start. This past Friday, Bauer and the Diablos Rojos del México took on the Conspiradores de Querétaro. It was a start to forget for Bauer as the former MLB All-Star gave up 7 hits and 7 earned runs (one of which was a homerun) over only 2.1 innings of work.
During the rough outing, Trevor Bauer was able to rack up three more strikeouts. However, the disastrous start nearly doubled his season-long ERA to 2.48. Bauer will need to improve on this start if he has any hope of securing an MLB contract in the near future.
