"Welcome to the Dodgers!"; "Such a Yankee" - Fans go gaga over Roki Sasaki's latest pitching session

Roki Sasaki hasn't got an MLB team yet, but the league nevertheless generated plenty of excitement for fans on Wednesday by posting a video of him throwing off of a mound and tagging the right-handed pitcher on X.

Sasaki, who pitched for the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Nippon Professional Baseball League, is expected to join an MLB team in the coming weeks as he is making the move to the United States to continue his professional career. Several teams have had meetings with the star pitcher and his agent, Joe Wolfe, but a decision has not yet been made.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the rumored landing spots for Roki Sasaki, and one fan went as far as to welcome him to the team:

"Welcome to the Dodgers!!!💙"

There were plenty of other reactions to the video, and many are in agreement that he would look good in a Dodgers uniform.

"Roki is a Dodger," one fan posted

"Let's not pretend he's going anywhere but LA," another said.

Fans of other MLB teams are not giving up hope that easily though, and the New York Yankees could be another option for the young star.

"Such a Yankee," a netizen posted.

Other Yankees fans joined in on commenting on the upcoming decision and would like to see him in pinstripes.

"I say Yanks," one fan commented.

"He's gonna love the Bronx," another commented.

MLB insider believes Yankees have shot at Roki Sasaki

MLB analyst Bryan Hoch believes that the Roki Sasaki could eventually join the New York Yankees.

"They've had a history of Japanese players that have come to the Yankees and enjoyed their time there (and) have been really recognizable stars in New York," Hoch said on SNY. "If you want to be in a major market, that might be the place for you."

Other MLB teams are still going to try to work out a deal to land Sasaki, and a decision is expected to be made soon.
