In the latest edition of the extremely popular MLB trivia game the Immaculate Grid, fans were asked to name a fomer Detroit Tigers player that has recorded over 3000 hits.
The goal of the grid is not only to get a correct answer, but to select an answer that is rare and unfamiliar.
This is one of the tougher questions we have seen on the grid. There are only 33 players in the history of the MLB to record 3000 or more hits. Only three of those players have played for the Detroit Tigers.
MLB Immaculate Grid Answers September 22: Which Tigers players have 3000+ career hits?
Infielder Miguel Cabrera was the most popular choice among the fans. Over 65 percent of the fans selected Cabrera with their pick.
The 40-year-old is currently in his final year with the organization and plans to call it quits and the end of the season. Cabrera started his career with the Florida Marlins (now the Miami Marlins) but has been a fan favorite in Detroit since 2008. Over 16 seasons with the Tigers, he has gone on to rack up 372 home runs and 1355 RBIs.
Over 2790 career MLB games, he has recorded 3167 total hits.
The second most popular pick was outfielder Ty Cobb. The left-handed hitter amassed an incredible 4189 hits over an illustrious career and ranks second in the all-time MLB hits list behind only Pete Rose.
Cobb finished his career with the Philadelphia Athletics but will be remembered for the 22 years he spent with Detroit where he went on to win the AL MVP in 1911.
The final acceptable answer would have been outfielder Al Kaline. The 18-time All-Star was one of the league's elite hitters between 1953-1974. He played his entire 22-year career with Detroit and would go on to play in 2834 major league games. Kaline was a member of the Tiges team that defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1968 World Series.
He finished his career with an impressive 3007 hits before retiring in 1974.
