Former Seattle Mariners star Ichiro Suzuki has become the first Japanese-born player elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Suzuki spent 19 years in Major League Baseball, playing for the Mariners, New York Yankees, and Miami Marlins.

Suzuki received 99.7% of the votes, falling just one vote short of becoming a unanimous Hall of Fame selection. In the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) balloting, the 51-year-old garnered 393 out of 394 votes.

Fans who were overjoyed by Ichiro Suzuki's induction into the Hall of Fame were left dissatisfied when they learned that he was just one vote short of a unanimous selection.

“Never a doubt!! Well deserved!!” a fan said.
“WHO TF DIDNT VOTE FOR ICHIRO? TAKE THEM OFF THE COMMITTEE LOL 😂,” another fan wrote.
“Who didn’t vote Suzuki I need to know now,” someone wrote.

The reactions continued, with many celebrating and praising the Japanese legend for his historic achievement.

“No brainer. One of the best players to ever step on the field,” a comment reads.
“Truly grateful to witness one of or possibly the greatest contact hitter the sport has ever seen,” another comment reads.
“TELL US WHO THE SINGULAR VOTER WAS THAT MADE SUZUKI NON-UNANIMOUS,” another comment read.
