In 2014, he joined the Idaho Falls Chukars. Ryan spent the first half of the 2015 season with the Lexington Legends, where he batted 277 with 19 home runs and 56 RBIs before being promoted to the Wilmington Blue Rocks. He finished with a 236 batting average, eight home runs, and 21 RBIs with the Blue Rocks.
Ryan was traded to the Baltimore Orioles on January 3, 2023. Following Lewin Daz's waiver claim, Baltimore designated Ryan for assignment on January 5. Ryan was optioned to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides on January 12. Ryan hit 375 with three home runs in 40 at-bats during spring training before being demoted to Triple-A Norfolk to start the season.
The Orioles picked Ryan's contract on April 13, 2023, and he was added to the major league roster.
