The Houston Astros famously left the baseball fraternity in splits in 2017 when they held a fake funeral for former MLB outfielder Carlos Beltran's outfield glove.

Beltran, who'd been missing in action for roughly two months prior to that game against the Mariners, received quite the unexpected welcome back!
"I love it," Beltran said after the ceremony. "I have fun with them. They have fun with me. That's what a team should be."
Clad in black, the players gathered around the center field and kneeled down in a semi-circle. Brian McCann, dressed as a priest, delivered the eulogy. The glove was laid to rest in a white box, which Josh Reddick placed in front of three faux gravestones.
When asked by reporters what was said during McCann's eulogy, Beltran remained silent and politely chose to let McCann answer that question.
"Ask him," Beltran said of McCann's eulogy. "He will tell you what he said. ... He said a few words that I cannot put in the media."
However, an overly impressed and amused Beltran recorded the extravagant ceremony on his phone and shared a laugh with his teammates about the ceremony at the end.
"They make me laugh," he concluded.

It was the Houston Astros' unique way of welcoming Beltran back who had been missing from their roster and their commitment here should really be applauded. The entire team!
