In October 2014, former San Francisco Giants star Sergio Romo lost his cool with police after being questioned for allegedly forcing his partner inside a vehicle. The incident happened after the Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals four games to three to clinch their third World Series championship.
Apparently, San Francisco police officers were dispatched to Union Square at around two in the morning in response to an allegation that a man was shoving a lady into the car. When cops reached the spot, the lady was identified as Sergio's girlfriend.
After further investigation, the police discovered that the couple was in a merry mood when Romo's girlfriend saw a text from his ex-girlfriend and grew furious. Next, SF police officers ordered Sergio to sit on the curb in an attempt at normalcy.
However, as Romo attempted to rise back up, a police officer grabbed him by the shoulder and asked him, saying:
"You need to relax.”
In response, Sergio got agitated and said:
"No, no, you need to relax. You don’t know how to handle high-pressure situations."
