Who are Willson Contreras’s Parents?

Olga Contreras and William Contreras welcomed Contreras into the world on May 13, 1992, in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela.

When St. Louis defeated the Padres 6-5 in 10 innings, Contreras had his parents, William and Olga Contreras, in the stands to witness him play for the first time since he signed with the Cardinals. After hitting his second home run of the day he looked across the 36,851-person audience and gestured to his parents, to whom he claimed to owe everything. Contreras pointed to the stands, the exact spot where his parents had been sitting when they watched him play in person as a Cardinal for the first time.

“Having my family in the stands means a lot to me,” he added. “I’m here because of them. I owe them a lot. I don’t think there is something I can do that is enough for them. Having a night like I had I will never forget especially at their first game at Busch Stadium this year. I was trying to do something good for my mom and dad, Willson said.

He has an elder brother named Willmer and a younger brother named William. He is the middle kid among the three. When they were younger, Willson and William used to play baseball on the street with a crumpled piece of paper for a ball. The Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB) started a baseball academy in Venezuela for Contreras when he was sixteen years old.
