During the 2017 NBA Playoffs, the Thunder were pitted against Rockets in their First Round. After losing Game 1 on road, Thunder were looking to steal Game 2 before they go back to OKC for Game 3 and 4. Westbrook took over and scored 51 points in this game but Rockets overpowered Russ to win the game, 115-111.

Russ was very rusty in this game and took ridiculous 43 shots and made only 17 with a forgettable field-goal percentage of 39.5. This came on the back of a terrible shooting from behind the arc, going for 2-11 with a pathetic three-point field-goal percentage of 18.2.
