Following the completion of the preliminary round of the 2013 AfroBasket for women being held at Maputo, Mozambique, the championship has entered the quarterfinal stage.
Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Egypt, Angola, Nigeria, Mozambique, Mali and Senegal are the teams that have qualified for the last eight.
On the last day of the preliminary round of the championship, Cote d’Ivoire defeated Zimbabwe 66-50, Algeria lost to Egypt 62-72, Kenya defeated Cape Verde 64-63, Cameroon beat Nigeria 71-65, hosts Mozambique defeated Senegal 77-61 and Angola edged past Mali 67-66.

The top two teams from 2013 ArfoBasket for women will represent FIBA Africa in the 17th edition of the 2014 FIBA World Cup for women in Turkey.
