Angola took the first and second quarter 16-15 and 15-14 respectively to go to half-time break with two-point lead.
After the break, Angola also took the third quarter 15-11 to extend the lead going to the last quarter. But the hosts took the last quarter 14-8 to force the match to the overtime.

Angola outscored their opponents 10-7 in OT and defended their crown.
Meanwhile, Senegal beat Cameroon 63-56 for the bronze.
Angola’s captain Nacessila Mauricio was adjudged MVP of the championship.
