The preliminary round of the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship has been concluded at Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. At the end of the preliminary round, the following are the standings:

The top four teams of each group have entered the next round of the championship while Brazil and Paraguay are out of the championship due to being at the bottom of their respective groups. Each team will play the team from the other group in the second round. After the second round, top four teams will enter the semifinals and also get their ticket to the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.

10 teams affiliated to the FIBA Americas sub-zone are fighting for the continental honours at the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship, which are being held in Venezuela.
The top four teams qualify for the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain. The final of the championship will be played on September 11, 2013.
