Keita Bates-Diop led Minnesota in scoring with his 17 points as his team outplayed the Cavaliers in their summer league opener. Coming from 11 down, the Timberwolves outscored their opponents 29-14 in the third quarter and also held the Cavs to just 15 points in the final period.
Minnesota's Kelan Martin grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds along with 12 points as Josh Okogie chipped in with 14 points of his own. Second-round pick from this year's draft, Jaylen Nowell was unavailable due to a right thigh contusion.

#5 Miami Heat vs China (Heat won 103-62)
After jumping quickly to a 59-25 lead by half-time, the Heat did not take their foot off the gas and put the game away early in the second half. First round pick Tyler Herro led Miami with his 23 points on 4-9 shooting from deep, along with 4 assists, 2 rebounds and 3 steals. Nick Mayo aided the Heat's winning cause by chipping in with 20 points off the bench.
Wang Zhelin from the Chinese Men's National Team led his squad with a solid 12-point, 14-rebound double-double, which eventually proved to be too little against the Miami onslaught.
