Team USA is still looking for their first win in the men's 3x3 basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Americans take on hosts France on Friday, Aug. 2, as they try to salvage a disastrous campaign. The United States are at the bottom of the standings and are the only team without a victory in the tournament.
The Americans lost to both Lithuania and Latvia on Thursday. Canyon Barry missed a game-tying shot at the buzzer against Lithuania, losing 20-18, before Team USA came up short versus Latvia later in the day, 21-19.
Meanwhile, France also had a rough day on Thursday with two losses after a 2-0 start to the tournament. The hosts were dominated by the Netherlands 20-13 in their third game before being derailed by Serbia, 19-16, in a rain-delayed matchup.

Barry is the son of Hall of Famer Rick Barry, while Maddox and Travis found full-time careers with 3x3 basketball. Both were even part of the USA's roster at the 2023 World Cup that won silver.
Meanwhile, France's roster is composed of Lucas Dussoulier, Timothe Vergiat, Jules Rambaut and Franck Seguela. Dussoulier and Vergiat are pro basketball players for Nanterre and Blois, respectively, in the LNB Elite, the top-tier league in the country. Rambaut and Seguela are also pro basketball players but switched to 3x3 basketball.
Team USA vs France Predictions
France should be the favorites, considering the USA's 0-4 start to the tournament as well as the injury to Jimmer Fredette. The hosts also struggled on Thursday but should bounce back using the number's advantage.
While the United States' prospects look bleak, they have an advantage against France. Their game versus the hosts will be their first game of the day, while it will be the second for France, who will play back-to-back games in a span of less than four hours.
Prediction: The United States should get the win over France in a highly contested matchup.
