#1 A reliable, efficient third option on offense

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are definitely the best players on the Miami Heat roster, and the pair have done well as they led the team to the 2020 NBA Finals. But the 2020-21 NBA season might've proven that the Miami Heat needs more on offense, and after Tyler Herro did not answer that call last year, it might be time to go shopping.

The Miami Heat could not land James Harden before he was traded from Houston to Brooklyn, and that might be a decision that will hurt the Heat for some years. Moreover, Tyler Herro was expected to take a big leap after his performances in the Orlando bubble, but he did not impress.

Still, Herro could be part of a trade package for some established scorers, like Bradley Beal or even C.J. McCollum. Victor Oladipo was not the answer for the Miami Heat in 2021, and he might not be back as unrestricted free agency comes.
A third scorer would give Butler and Adebayo a lot of help, as they will still have to spend energy on defense, but will be able to rely on a consistent, proven scorer.
While Butler and Adebayo led the Miami Heat's offense in the 2020-21 season, they averaged 21.5 and 18.7 points per game and the Miami Heat's attack could surely use some more production.
The Miami Heat ranked 17th in field-goal percentage in the regular season, 19th in three-point percentage and 26th in field goals made per game.
