It is no secret that the Boston Celtics want to add a center, and the team was believed to be interested in signing Anthony Davis before his trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Celtics can currently call upon Daniel Theis, Enes Kanter, and Tacko Fall, although it is a stretch to suggest that any of the trio would ever be good enough to start for a contending team, and Towns would provide Boston with a world-class center who could develop alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

With Towns under contract for the long-term, the Celtics can also commit to giving up the likes of Marcus Smart and Gordon Hayward as part of a trade - and there is no reason why Towns wouldn't be able to grow into one of the NBA's best if he moves to a contending Boston team.
