#2 Versatility

If you watched Jonathan Kuminga closely throughout his time in the NBA G-League, as well as his performance during Summer League, you might have noticed that he has some serious potential on both sides of the ball. One thing that jumped out was his ability on the defensive side of the ball. The fact that Kuminga can already do some of the things he can defensively should have Warriors fans drooling. He showed an understanding of how to work to put himself in the right position when it came to weakside defense. He also showed the ability to stay in front of quicker opponents. If Kuminga can pick up team rotations quickly for this Warriors team, he could become a dangerous asset defensively with his ability to guard multiple positions.

Here's the best situation for Jonathan Kuminga moving forward. If the Golden State Warriors can commit to simplifying Kuminiga's role offensively as a rookie, he could absolutely carve out a role in the rotation. Head coach Steve Kerr even talked about how Kuminga could have a path towards making an impact early on when he spoke to the media on Wednesday.

"Right away, immediately, he looks like a four because of his power and strength in his body, and ability to guard multiple positions," Kerr told reporters Wednesday. "I think the easiest way for him to make an impact would be as a four, in terms of limiting what he has to do offensively with decision-making, being a dive man, a roll man, a [dribble hand-off] guy, and then being great defensively.

The Warriors don't need Kuminga to be a guy to try to get 20 points per game, they need him to be an efficient rotation asset as a rookie. The hope should be for Kuminga to buy into the Warriors plan early on. If he can buy into the idea of doing the little things that can help the rest of the team flourish early on, it could be beneficial for both sides. It's a realistic possibility early on that would result in a fantastic addition to this Golden State roster.
