This one is a long shot, but pairing Anthony Davis and LeBron James would make the Lakers true contenders. Magic Johnson would have to give up a majority of the core of the organization, as the Pelicans would demand the likes of Josh Hart, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram. Despite this, Davis is the most dominant big man the league, and the Lakers will be willing to do anything to get their man.

There is a belief around the league that the 25-year-old wants to be in Los Angeles, and Davis himself signed with LeBron James' agent over the summer. The New Orleans player is currently under contract until 2021 and it remains to be seen if the Lakers will wait for his free-agency.

Davis would most likely have to request a trade, which could lead to a messy break up from the organization that he has such a close bond with. Davis seems destined to play in the purple and gold, however, it is still a mystery as to when it will become a reality.
