On top of that, Simmons shot 71% from the field and 3-5 from the free-throw line. Simmons was efficient from the field while also getting into passing lanes. This was a perfect preview for his young career, as it was just starting.
#2 Ben Simmons 29/13/11 vs. Houston Rockets January 3, 2020
Ben Simmons played one of his most complete games of his career. 29 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals, and four blocks. Simmons led the 76ers in scoring, and 65%, only needing 20 shots, but he did go 3-7 from the free-throw line. However, the 76ers lost to the Houston Rockets 118-108.
Simmons dominated the game on both ends of the court, but this game was a battle of star power. Simmons, Embiid, and Harris scored 73 points, while James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Clint Capela combined for 94 points.
While on defense all night, Simmons had to deal with Harden and Westbrook and still posted a 106 defensive rating, which solidified him as a defensive star. The game showed Simmons' shooting flaws, but it also showed how dominant he can be when he is right. He can be the number one scoring option on a team in the right situation.
#1 Ben Simmons 34/12/12 vs. Brooklyn Nets January 20, 2020
This might be Simmons' best game he has played in the NBA. He scored 34 points on 14 attempts, shooting 86% from the field, and making 12-14 three throws. Add the 12 rebounds, 12 assists, five steals and two blocks, and Simmons' game rounds out nicely.
Embiid also missed the game, and Simmons put up the only game he has scored more than 30 points. Simmons was also the only player on the 76ers to have over 20 points, as they went on to beat the Brooklyn Nets 117-111.
Simmons' offensive rating for this game was 159, while his defense was 96. It's about as dominant as you can be on both sides of the court.
When a team trades for Simmons, they will be trading for these versions of him, not the version that passed out of a layup in a playoff game.
