Steve Nash was one of the most dynamic point guards in the NBA during his career. When the Phoenix Suns gave him the keys to Mike D'Antoni's fast-paced offense, he became the NBA MVP in consecutive years.

Nash's playmaking was impressive during his prime, and he made a career out of creating easy scoring chances for his teammates. The two-time MVP and seven-time All-NBA had 110 games with at least 15 assists, the third-most in NBA history.

Magic Johnson is the greatest point guard in NBA history in the eyes of many, including some of his old rivals at the position. Johnson's court vision and playmaking were absolutely stunning during the 'Showtime' LA Lakers' run of five NBA titles in the 1980s.
Johnson's career was short-lived, but his resume is still as impressive as any player's in NBA history. He had 189 games in his career with at least 15 assists, and he led the NBA in assists per game four times during his career.
Magic Johnson is sixth in total assists in NBA history, with 10,141 in 906 regular-season games. His assists-per-game average of 11.2 is the highest in NBA history, though. Johnson won three regular-season MVP and as many Finals MVP awards, largely due to his stunning playmaking.

John Stockton is, almost, the Wilt Chamberlain of assists in the NBA. He is the all-time leader in career assists, with a seemingly untouchable tally of 15,806, with only one other player in league history reaching 12,000 (Jason Kidd).
Stockton is also the all-time leader in terms of seasons, leading the league in assists, with nine consecutive from 1988 to 1996. He also holds the record for most assists in a single season, with 1,164 in the 1990-91 season. Stockton has the highest assists-per-game average in a single year, with 14.5 in the 1989-90 campaign as well.
With 10.5 assists per game in his career, Stockton ranks second to Magic Johnson in that category. But his average came during 19 seasons, which is definitely tough to achieve.
